The 2026–27 NBA Regular Season brought three Thursday games that shook up team streaks and historical leaderboards.

Both sides entered the Moda Center with flawless records. By the final buzzer, the Memphis Grizzlies and their Finnish head coach, Tuomas Iisalo, kept their streak alive. They advanced to 5–0 by pulling away in the second half for a 124–103 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

They relied on balanced scoring. Seven players hit double figures. Dutch reserve Quinten Post was sharp off the bench, logging ten points and four rebounds in just over seven minutes. Unfortunately, his night ended early when he sustained a right ankle injury.

Despite Portland’s first loss, Israeli starter Deni Avdija led everyone with a game-high 24 points, adding nine rebounds and seven assists in 32:05. Belgian starter Toumani Camara did a bit of everything, finishing with 13 points, two steals, and two blocks. Off the bench, French Sidy Cissoko grabbed six rebounds to go with four points, while Czech Vit Krejci got two points.

Pelicans top Kings, Hawks edge out Cavs

At the Smoothie King Center, the New Orleans Pelicans secured a 132–120 victory over the Sacramento Kings. The result overshadowed a milestone for Domantas Sabonis, who surpassed Vlade Divac to take 12th place on the Kings‘ all-time rebounding list. The Lithuanian big lasted 40:18, tallying nine points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists.

Ukrainian-Belarusian Alex Karaban had six points in 12:21, and Israeli Emanuel Sharp recorded a rebound and a steal across 18:12. For the Pels, Croatian Karlo Matkovic started, producing 12 points, four rebounds, and three steals in 27:31.

Over at State Farm Arena, the Atlanta Hawks narrowly escaped with a 114–111 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Croatian reserve Mario Hezonja played 16:45 for the Cavs, registering ten points, six rebounds, and two assists, but Dutch Tristan Enaruna was inactive.
