Andrew Wiggins scored 27 points and Karl-Anthony Towns added 22 to help the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the severely short-handed Chicago 117-89. Spaniard Ricky Rubio had 17 points, 11 assists and six rebounds and Minnesota shot 54 percent to help Thibodeau sweep the season series against his former team which was missing Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade, Spaniard Nikola Mirotic and German Paul Zipser with injuries. As for Bjelica he also had 6 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in one of his best NBA games ever.

Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points and New York salvaged the finale of a tumultuous five-game home-stand by beating the San Antonio Spurs 94-90.  French big man Joakim Noah missed his fourth straight game with a sore left hamstring, both Latvian Kristaps Porzingis (16 p. 7 r.) and Spaniard Willy Hernangomez (12 p. 9 r.) were starters  and for the Spurs French star Tony Parker had 4 assists and history was made as Latvian Davis Bertans shared the court with Porzingis. Bertans had 3 points, but for the first time two Latvians played against each other in the NBA.

With 13.2 seconds remaining Kentavious Caldwell-Pope drilled just his second 3-pointer of the night to cap a 16-point fourth-quarter comeback and lead the Detroit Pistons to a 102-101 win over the Toronto Raptors. Lithuanian Jonas Valanciunas had 17 points and nine rebounds for the losing side and Austrian center Jakob Poeltl who was used as a starting power forward added 5 points and 4 rebounds.

DeMarcus Cousins had 28 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists for the Kings, who beat the New Orleans Pelicans 105-99. The temperamental Cousins received a questionable technical late in the first quarter, his NBA-leading 17th of the season. One more technical and he will serve his second one-game suspension. Greek-American center Kosta Koufos added added 4 points and 7 rebounds for the winners, while Lithuanian Donatas Motiejunas had 7 points and 8 rebounds for the losing side.
