The Wizards led by two at halftime and opened the third quarter by scoring 13 of the first 17 points, pulling ahead 65-54 on Marcin Gortat’s three-point play. The center from Poland had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Russell Westbrook had 31 points and 11 assists to help the Thunder stay hot with a 112-107 win over the Houston Rockets. Swiss center Clint Capela added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Houston, which lost its third straight.
Klay Thompson hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:33 left, Kevin Durant delivered on both ends of the floor, and the Golden State Warriors beat the Cavaliers 99-92. Durant’s block against a driving LeBron James with 24.5 seconds left went out of bounds off James, who said he thought he was fouled on the play. Durant finished with 25 points, seven rebounds, and five blocked shots.
The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Los Angeles Lakers 121-104 for their first-ever Christmas Day victory. Serb Nemanja Bjelica had one point and two rebounds in six minutes after missing 15 games with a sprained left foot.
Earlier in the day, the Sixers beat the Knicks.
