Sertac Sanli dominated with a career-high 22 points and 8 rebounds and Besiktas beat Trabzonspor 78 – 74 in Istanbul to register its 12th victory in 16 games of the Turkish League regular season.
This performance by the Turkish international center surpassed his previous career-best of 21 points he had twice before (vs Trabzonspor in 2014 and this season vs Darussafaka).
Josh Adams added 14 points, Jon Diebler 12 while DJ Strawberry had 12 points and 8 assists for Besiktas. Osiris Eldridge led Trabzonspor with 24 points.
Earlier, NBA and EuroLeague veteran Will Bynum made his debut with Yesilgiresun by scoring 17 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds in an 85 – 82 loss on the road to Usak Sportif (Jordan Hamilton 18 points).
Bynum seems to have adjusted rather quickly in his new surroundings although he has probably forgotten some of the differences in the rules between European basketball and the NBA.
