Spurs go through Jokic, Nuggets for 2-1 lead

Twelve European players were in action during NBA’s three-game playoffs schedule on Thursday evening.

The San Antonio Spurs broke the 1-1 tie in the best-of-seven series in their favor with an 118-108 home win over the Denver Nuggets overcoming Nikola Jokic’s 22 points. All four of their European players helped out with Jakob Poeltl highlighting the bunch with 10 points to his name.

Alike the Texans, the Philadelphia 76ers took a 2-1 lead with the 131-115 away victory against the Brooklyn Nets. Joel Embiid sat out with left knee soreness, but Boban Marjanovic was among the main contributors finishing with 14 points and eight boards.

The Golden State Warriors also gained a 2-1 advantage on the road comfortably taking down the Los Angeles Clippers, 132-105. Ivica Zubac put up a 18-point, 15-rebound double-double for the losing side and Danilo Gallinari scored nine points.
