With a downtown bucket two seconds before the final buzzer, James Anderson gave Darussafaka Dogus the 71 – 68 victory over Besiktas putting his team closer to the top four of the Turkish League standings.

DJ Strawberry, who finished with a team-high 18 points, had previously put Besiktas ahead 66 – 68, completing a superb comeback from a 20-point deficit (40 – 20 with three minutes remaining for halftime). But Brad Wanamaker, the top performer from the winning side with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists tied the match and then found the wide open Anderson who knocked the game-winner.

Anderson finished the match with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, while Will Clyburn flirted with the double-double after 12 points and 9 rebounds. Michael Roll had 15 points and Earl Clark 10 for coach Sarica’s side that remains fourth at the table with a 16 – 5 record.

Darussafaka improved to 14 – 7 and approached fourth Banvit (15-6) that fell to Tofas Bursa (10-11). Fenerbahce (19-3) and Anadolu Efes (19-3) continue sharing the peak of the standings after proceeding with victories.

The defending champs triumphed in the derby vs arch-rival Galatasaray (12-9), while Perasovic’s team faced no serious resistance against Buyukcekmece (6-15).
