CSKA Moscow remains perfect and six teams are tied in second place! It can’t get any better for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague after six rounds of action.

While the defending champs are the only team at 6-0 in the standings, Real Madrid, Panathinaikos, Baskonia, Fenerbahce, Barcelona and Dogus Darussafaka are tied at 4-2, while Olympiacos and EA7 Emporio Armani Milano are sharing  the eighth spot at 3-3.

And while the game at Vitoria concluded the night with a bang, we have also to make a stop first in Moscow.

MVP

Nando De Colo

de colo

He made a turnover that could have been fatal with 3 seconds left on the game, but the point remains that the reigning MVP had a great game as CSKA Moscow beat Real Madrid. The French star had 28 points on 8/12 field goals and 9/9 free throws. Add to those numbers 6 rebounds and you can get why was once again a force on the floor.

Best Five

Nando De Colo: The best French player in the world right now.

justindentmongalatasaray

Justin Dentmon: He led Galatasaray to its first Euroleague win for this season with 22 points, 4/8 threes and 3 assists. The fact that he did it against a team like Olympiacos is also a big plus.

Keith Langford: He had 23 points, 5 rebounds and the winning shot for Unics Kazan against Crvena Zvezda. Unics will live and die by him and he is still one of the best at what he does.

Simon
Simon

Krunoslav Simon: He touched the triple double, as EA7 Emporio Armani Milano got the win over Anadolu Efes in the Italians best ever offensive performance in Euroleague. He finished the game with 14 points, 6/7 field goals, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.

Chris Singleton: The forward/ center of Panathinaikos had a career best night with 26 points, 7/10 field goals, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks in the overtime win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Best losing performance: Brock Motum

Zalgiris Kaunas managed to scare Barcelona, which in the end got the win. The Australian big man, however, was unstoppable having also a career best with 26 points, 7/7 2-pointers and 4/5 threes. He was almost perfect, but it was not enough.

Coach of the week: Dimitris Itoudis

Being the favorite is not an easy task and in the case of CSKA Moscow the point is not just the fact that the defending champs are winning, but that they also produce basketball of high quality. This was evident against Real Madrid and being the only unbeaten team in Euroleague after meeting the Spaniards and Olympiacos on the road is not a small feat.

Biggest win of the night: Baskonia

They say that revenge is a dish served cold and Baskonia managed to get a huge win over Fenerbahce in a rematch of their last season’s semifinal. This is a result that can make Baskonia a contender even for the top four spots of regular season and the advantage in the playoffs. Not bad for a totally changed roster compared to last season. As for Fenerbahce, this says it all…

Last word: Wanamaker

BradWanamaker

Bradley Wanamaker made his name in Brose Bamberg. However, he didn’t hesitate to “kill” his old team as Dogus Darussafaka got its first home win. It’s a cruel business.
