The two-thirds of the regular season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague are history and the race for the home court advantage is hotter than ever.

As you can see in the standings, the big winner of this week is Fenerbahce Dogus. The defending champs are all alone in the second spot as a crucial road game is coming for them against Olympiacos.

This week there were just two road wins and the game against Olympiacos will not be easy, but Fenerbahce seems to be back for good and that brings us to our MVP.

MVP

Brad Wanamaker

He made big plays down the stretch and he finished the night with 24 points, 3/4 threes, five rebounds, seven assists and just one turnover. Like it happened last year, he gets better as the season progresses and you know what this can mean for Fenerbahce Dogus in May.

Best Five

  1. Brad Wanamaker: The leader of the defending champs.
  2. Norris Cole: He had an almost perfect game with 6/8 FG, 6/6 FT, six assists and three steals in Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv big road win over AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milano.
  3. Dylan Ennis: He had his breakout game against Olympiacos, being the most crucial player in KK Crvena Zvezda‘s win with 21 points in just 17 minutes of action, eight rebounds and five assists.
  4. Janis Timma: He had an amazing game winner and 17 points, keeping Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz in the playoffs race after beating Unicaja Malaga.
  5. Walter Tavares: He delivered for Real Madrid against Bryant Dunston of Anadolu Efes with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

Coach of the week: Dusan Alimpijevic

He didn’t coach his team almost for half a game after being ejected, however, the point is that he created once again a solid unit, even if on paper, especially at the start of the season, this version of Crvena Zvezda looked like the worst of recent years. That was not the case against Olympiacos.

Last word: A night to remember at OAKA

It was an amazing game which ended with an instant classic coast to coast by Nick Calathes that gave to Panathinaikos the overtime win. Of course, there was controversy about the refs and Zalgiris Kaunas coach Sarunas Jasikevicius left no doubts about this. However, missed calls are also part of the game and maybe someday Saras will remember this night with a smile since Zalgiris proved again that they belong in the grown-ups table.
