CSKA Moscow won their seventh straight game in the VTB League with another great performance. They beat Enisey Krasnoyarsk 108-73 and improved their record to 17-2, staying in the race with UNICS Kazan for the first place, while today’s opponent remains at the bottom of the standings with a 3-13 record.
Six players scored double-digit points for the victors. Leo Westermann was the most effective with 15 points, while William Clyburn and Alan Makiev added 14 points each. On the other side, Denis Zakharov scored a game-high 18 points.
CSKA created a double-digit lead already in the first quarter winning it 29-17. Although the guests managed to hold on until the halftime (48-38), they had no chance in the second part of the game. The ‘Red Army’ completely crushed them by scoring 60 points in last 20 minutes (60-35).
Meanwhile, UNICS managed to survive Khimki’s major last quarter comeback effort and won 83-80. Jamar Smith led the victors with game-high 21 points, while Alexey Shved’s 19 points weren’t enough for the host to turn the game around.
