In a three game night that featured many debuts, European players impressed with their individual performances.
The Toronto Raptors beat the Chicago Bulls by a final score of 117-100. The Mirotic-Portis incident, gave Lauri Markkanen a chance to start and he performed quite well in his NBA debut with 17 points and 8 boards while German peer Paul Zipser had 7 points, 3 boards and 3 assists.
For the winning side, Jonas Valanicunas led the team in scoring and notched a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. Serge Ibaka finished with 8 points, 4 boards and 2 blocks but played only 24 minutes in a blow-out.
The new-look Thunder took care of business against the New York Knicks. In a game that featured the return of Enes Kanter to OKC (10p, 7 r). Russel Westbrook notched his first triple-double of the season alongside his new star teammates, Paul George (28p, 6r) and Carmelo Anthony (22p,). For the winning side, Alex Abrines added 3 points in 24 minutes.
Latvian star, Kristaps Porzingis was unstoppable notching 31 points and 12 rebounds and looked superb despite his team loss.
In Los Angeles, the “Paul-less” Clippers looked comfortable in their new up-tempo offense featuring Milos Teodosic and former Olympiacos guard, Patrick Beverly. The Serbian international finished the game with 6 points, 6 assists and a block, while Italian teammate, Danilo Gallinari had 11 points and 5 boards.
