Luka Doncic was forced to exit the preparation game between Slovenia and Latvia in the second half after hurting his knee.
Early in the third period, Slovenia wing Gregor Hrovat fell on Doncic’s knee during a defensive play. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar seemed to be in a lot of pain but managed to walk out of the floor and head to the locker room on his own.
He returned to the bench and was sidelined for the rest of the match. According to multiple reports he suffered a right knee contusion which is not believed to be serious, but there’s no official information yet coming from the Slovenian federation.
Doncic had 26 points until he was hurt, scoring all of them by halftime as Slovenia led 52 – 50. Latvia entered the third quarter with a 18 – 0 run to eventually win 100 – 88 behind 20 points by Kristaps Porzingis.
Davis Bertans scored 18 points, dropping eight during Latvia’s 18-0 run.
