Prometey ties with Besiktas, with the Turkish side conceding third straight loss in BKT EuroCup

Besiktas had a promising start to the BKT EuroCup season, securing victories in five out of the first six games. However, the Istanbul side faced a setback in the last five matches, experiencing four defeats.

Prometey delivered an outstanding performance, dealing Dusan Alimpijevic’s team their heaviest loss of the season with a convincing 89-70 victory. This win propelled Prometey to a 6-5 record in Group A, tying them with Besiktas in the standings after 11 rounds.

Ondrej Balvin led the scoring for the Ukrainian side with 17 points, narrowly missing a double-double by one rebound. Tai Odiase achieved a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards. Illia Sydorov contributed 14 points, Rob Gray followed with 12, and Yusuf Sanon also reached double figures with 10 points.

For Besiktas, Matt Mitchell stood out with 18 points, while Derek Needham added 11, and Kyle Allman contributed 10 points.

Prometey seized control early in the game, taking the first quarter with a score of 26-14. Although Besiktas mounted a comeback in the second period, the hosts regained the lead by halftime with a score of 45-40 after 20 minutes. However, in the second half, Prometey dominated, concluding the third quarter with a 13-0 run, entering the final 10 minutes with an insurmountable 72-50 lead.

JL Bourg defeated Trento 79-67 and improved in Group B standings to 9-2, while the Italian side fell to 4-7.

Isiaha Mike and Zaccharie Risacher scored 12 points each for the winning side, while Bodian Massa added 11, and Maksim Salash scored 10 points. Kamara Baldwin was the only player in double digits for Trento, scoring 11 points.

Turk Telekom secured a third straight win, defeating Buducnost Voli 73-96 on the road. They improved to 3-8, while the Montenegrin side fell to 4-7 in Group B standings.

Tyrone Wallace led the winning side with 22 points, while James Palmer added 17 points. Steven Enoch reached a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Okben Ulubay also had 15 points. Yigitcan Saybir also finished in double figures with 10 points.

McKinley Wright stood out for Buducnost with 23 points, but only Petar Popovic with 15 and Vladimir Mihailovic with 11 points followed.

Cedevita Olimpija gave a good fight to Joventut but remained winless after 11 rounds, with the Spanish side winning at home 83-81.

The Badalona team improved to 6-5 in Group A, with Andrew Andrews leading the way against the Slovenian champions with 14 points. Josep Busquets followed with 13, while Andres Feliz and Deshaun Thomas scored 12 points each. Vladimir Brodziansky and Ante Tomic added 10 points apiece.

For Cedevita Olimpija, D.J. Stewart had a great game with 20 points, while Karlo Matkovic recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Justin Cobbs also had a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists, while Jaka Blazic had 11, and Luka Scuka scored 10 points.

It all came down to the last possession in the London Lions – Hamburg game, with the German side winning 81-83 in the last second thanks to Mark Hughes’ two-pointer.

The hero of Hamburg finished the match with 12 points, while Aljami Durham and Aleksander Dziewa scored 15 points each. William Christmas added 10 points for the winning side, which improved to 2-9 in the Group A standings.

The Lions fell to 8-3 despite Gabriel Olaseni dominating with 24 points and nine rebounds for a PIR of 36. He had support from Sam Dekker with 14 points and Tarik Phillip with 10 points.
