David Nwaba boosting the roster of the London Lions strengthens the bid for an extended run in the BKT EuroCup.

Following 237 appearances in the NBA, London emerged as his first destination in Europe.

Nwaba, 30, signing with the Lions was announced by his agency on Wednesday evening.

Starting the 2023-24 campaign with the Motor City Cruise, he averaged 10.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks per contest over 15 appearances in the G League. Crossing the Atlantic Ocean, Nwaba meets the team coached by Petar Bozic at 9-4 and ranked third in Group A of the EuroCup Regular Season. Gabriel Olaseni, Jordan Taylor, Ciaran Sandy, Morayo Soluade, Sam Dekker, Conor Morgan, Luke Nelson, Kareem Queeley, Josh Sharma, Tarik Phillip, Matt Morgan, and Donte Grantham are among his new teammates.

The top two teams will advance directly to the Quarterfinals of the Euroleague Basketball’s second-tier competition. Teams following third through sixth will compete in the Eighthfinals. Finally, the EuroCup champion becomes eligible for a spot in the next edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Besides the continental campaign, the two-time champions of the British Basketball League are on top of the BBL table with a 22-3 record.

Coming out of Cal Poly in 2016, NBA experience ranged between the Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers over six seasons. His last appearance dates back to the 2021-22 Regular Season.
