After a spell between 2016 and 2018, Sertac Sanli reunited with Besiktas GAIN.
The Istanbul outfit had progressed into the final stages of talks to sign the 34-year-old Turkish center, as reported by Eurohoops on Monday, and confirmed his transfer from Dubai shortly following his official departure from the EuroLeague outfit on Tuesday.
Completing the signing ahead of the deadline to register new players on BKT EuroCup rosters made Sanli eligible for the remainder of the 2025-26 installment of Euroleague Basketball’s second-tier club competition, beyond his return to the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi.

Taking his talents to Dubai at the top of the season, Sanli averaged 2.4 points and 1.0 rebounds per game over seven EuroLeague appearances off the bench. A former champion with Fenerbahce Beko in 2025 and Anadolu Efes in 2021, he upped his games played total to 210. He has also featured in 18 EuroCup contests, stemming from the 2010-11, 2012-13, and 2015-16 campaigns.
Meanwhile, the team coached by Dusan Alimpijevic built a 9-4 tally in Group B of the EuroCup Regular Season, sitting second in the standings behind JL Bourg’s 11-2 record, and one game ahead of other immediate bids for a direct ticket to the Quarterfinals by Turk Telekom and Buducnost VOLI. Domestically, a 13-2 run is tied with Fener in first place of the BSL table.
After reinforcing the roster with Matt Thomas on Sunday, Sanli emerged as a new option in the five position.
Up next on the schedule is a huge EuroCup meeting opposite Bourg in Ekinox on Wednesday.
