Following his departure from FC Barcelona and confirming a report on heading to Dubai, Justin Anderson was officially welcomed by the new EuroLeague team on Thursday.
The 31-year-old winger is set for a third straight season in Europe’s premier club continental competition. He introduced himself with Valencia during the 2023-24 campaign, before moving to Barca to average 7.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.3 blocks per contest over 37 games, including 18 starts, in the 2024-25 campaign. Overall, he is a veteran of 55 appearances.
In the previous edition of Spain’s Liga Endesa, Anderson tallied 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game over 33 contests. The team coached by Joan Penarroya finished fifth in the Regular Season and was knocked out by Unicaja in the Quarterfinals of the ACB Playoffs 2025, after previously being eliminated by AS Monaco in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs 2025.
The next assignment with upstart Dubai joins him with fellow newcomers, Aleksa Avramovic, Dwayne Bacon, Mam Jaiteh, Kenan Kamenjas, Dzanan Musa, and McKinley Wright IV. In addition to extending his EuroLeague career, the experienced winger will debut in the AdmiralBet ABA League.
Back in 2015, coming out of Virginia, he was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the 21st overall pick of the NBA draft. He went on to log 257 appearances in the league, spread between the Mavs, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Indiana Pacers.
