Dubai confirms progress from knee injury for 26-year-old Dzanan Musa

For the first time since suffering a knee injury in early October, Dzanan Musa is suiting up for Dubai.

The 26-year-old wing started his 2025-26 journey with two EuroLeague appearances and one short showing in the AdmiralBet ABA League, before being forced to the sidelines for the next three months.

As announced by his team a few hours before tipoff, he is available for head coach Jurica Golemac in Round 15 of the ABA Regular Season opposite U-BT Cluj-Napoca in BTarena. From there to the upcoming EuroLeague challenges as well.

Ready to bounce back on Saturday, Musa is eager to add to his eight minutes on the court from October 6, which marked his first appearance in the regional league since 2018 and the bottom end of his Cedevita spell, a few months before being selected with the 29th overall pick of the 2018 NBA draft. He put up seven points before against Split in Coca-Cola Arena, before sustaining a serious knee injury.

Moving on from Cedevita, after capturing the Top Prospect award and being named in the Ideal Starting Five of the 2017-18 edition of ABA, and also getting the BKT EuroCup Rising Star nod, the next step was in the NBA with 54 games played as a member of the Brooklyn Nets over the next two years. Since returning to the Old Continent, he became a two-time champion in the EuroLeague, with Anadolu Efes in 2021 and Real Madrid in 2023, and was named to the 2022-23 All-EuroLeague First Team. Domestically, he was the Most Valuable Player of the 2021-22 installment of Spain’s Liga Endesa with Rio Breogan, and won two league championships, including the Final MVP distinction in 2024, with Madrid.

Last July, he switched to Dubai, a newcomer in Europe’s premier club competition.

At the international level, following a series of spectacular displays with junior national teams, the Bihac native made his way to EuroBasket 2022 and also represented Bosnia-Herzegovina across Qualifiers of several major tournaments, but missed last summer’s EuroBasket 2025 due to injury.

Boosting Dubai, his return meets his side at 10-12 in the EuroLeague Regular Season, two games away from the Play-in Showdown zone with 16 team outings remaining. Also, a 12-0 record ranks second in ABA’s Group A, based on the win-loss points system, trailing Partizan Mozzart Bet’s 12-1.
