The February award covered four games, during which Wright averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 assists and an 18.8 PIR. He converted 20 of 31 field goal attempts, shooting an impressive 64.0% inside the arc and 66.7% from long range. Wright’s influence extended well beyond the box score, as he posted an outstanding average plus/minus of +14.4 while consistently controlling tempo and limiting mistakes.
“This MVP of the Month means a lot to me,” Wright said. “I’m thankful for my teammates and the coaching staff for putting me in this position, being by my side throughout this journey and helping me showcase what I can do.”
Dubai’s unbeaten month featured statement victories over European heavyweights. The surge began with a 108-98 overtime triumph against Olympiacos Piraeus, followed by a 93-85 win over Real Madrid. Dubai then earned a crucial 78-96 road victory against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan before closing February with a 96-85 home success over LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.
Wright delivered in every outing. Against Olympiacos, he tallied 18 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 block for a 21 PIR, setting the tone against one of the league’s top-four sides. He also had a +28 in the plus/minus column in that 10-point win over the Reds. Wright followed that with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal, good for an 18 PIR, versus Real Madrid, again proving decisive in a marquee matchup.
On the road in Milan, Wright showcased his command and efficiency, finishing with 6 points and 4 assists without committing a single turnover. He capped the month with arguably his most complete performance: 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, zero turnovers and a 27 PIR against ASVEL, underlining his two-way value and leadership.
“For the team it means a lot to be able to go 4-0 in the month of February,” Wright added. “We’re trying to continue that so we can make a playoff push. I also give thanks to my family being out here and supporting me, especially my girl and two kids. Having them by my side and showing up has been very helpful for me, so it means a lot.”
Dubai entered February on the fringes of the postseason race, but the 4-0 run lifted the club to 11th place at 15-14, just one game behind both AS Monaco and Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens in ninth and 10th. The victories over Olympiacos and Real Madrid marked wins against two current top-four teams, while the triumph in Milan dealt a direct blow to a fellow play-in contender.
Wright’s recognition is historic as he becomes the first-ever Dubai player to be named the Euroleague Basketball MVP of the Month. In the club’s inaugural season in the EuroLeague, his leadership and efficiency have been key in helping the team break down barriers and establish itself as a threat in the competition.”
