After being officially waived by the Denver Nuggets on Monday, Lonnie Walker IV has turned his focus to the EuroLeague. According to Eurohoops sources, Besiktas is among his primary suitors, with two additional teams also showing interest.
The 27-year-old shooting guard is heading back to Europe after signing with agent Misko Raznatovic of BeoBasket. Walker is already familiar with the overseas game, having played 47 EuroLeague matches.
He first moved abroad to play for Zalgiris during the 2024–25 season after missing the final roster cut with the Boston Celtics. Following a brief stint with the Philadelphia 76ers in early 2025, he joined Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv last season, where he averaged 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 0.8 steals over 28 games.
A first-round draft pick in 2018 out of Miami, he spent his early career with the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, and Brooklyn Nets, and attempted a comeback by inking a training camp deal with Denver in September. However, he logged just 17 minutes over two exhibition games, contributing four points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal. His contract was non-guaranteed.
Now a free agent and returning to Europe, Walker is a prime target for Besiktas. The Turkish club has had a slow start to the 2026–27 continental and domestic campaigns, sitting at 2–2 in EuroLeague play and 1–2 in the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi. Management has been actively searching the market for a roster upgrade.
