Lonnie Walker IV has officially become a new Besiktas player, the Turkish club confirmed on social media.
The shooting guard was selected 18th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2018 NBA Draft and spent his first four NBA seasons with the team. He also played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets before moving to Europe for the first time in 2024.
Walker played for Zalgiris, making 33 appearances and winning the King Mindaugas Cup, before returning to the NBA in February. He signed with the Philadelphia 76ers but did not stay long, spending the following season back in the EuroLeague with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Now, after being waived by Denver following two months of collaboration, Walker IV will try to help Dusan Alimpijevic’s team, which has a 2-3 record in the EuroLeague.
Per press release:“Our Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team has signed a contract with 27-year-old American scoring guard Lonnie Walker IV.
Walker, who wore the jerseys of the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers throughout his NBA career, played with averages of 10 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 342 games.
Lonnie Walker IV, who transferred to Euroleague team Žalgiris for the 2024/25 season, last wore the Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv jersey in the previous season.
We welcome Lonnie Walker IV to the Beşiktaş Family and wish him outstanding success with our glorious jersey.”
