Completing the second day of the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers on Saturday evening, UCAM Murcia pulled away in the second half to defeat PGE Start Lublin, 100-84, and advance to the next round. Former NBA champion Devontae Cacok produced 17 points, Emanuel Cate threw in 15 points, and Toni Nakic added 14 points. On the losing end, Tevin Mack recorded a game-high 26 points.
The next opponent for the Universitarios will be Uniclub Casino – Juventus. Earlier in Arena SamElyon, the Utena outfit dominated the second half to take down Karhu Kauhajoki, 103-89, behind Devon Daniels and Evaldas Saulys tallying 22 and 19 points, respectively. For the Finnish side, Ike Nweke stood out with a game-high 23 points.
With the opponents held to 2/26 three-pointers, Porto stormed back from a 19-point deficit to beat Falco Szombathely, 83-79. Javian Davis and Jhonathan Dunn scored 25 and 20 points, respectively, while former NBA champion Axel Toupane chipped in nine points. On the elimination side, Jubrile Belo posted a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double.
Digging its way out of an early 11-point hole, Elan Chalon prevailed, 107-80, over Fribourg Olympic to set up a semifinal matchup versus Porto. Nate Darling put in a game-high 25 points.
Two more wins away from a berth in the Regular Season, the Semifinals follow on Monday. Between the two survivors squaring off on Wednesday, the winner of the tournament will complete Group B to face ALBA Berlin, ERA Nymburk, and Sabah in a six-game round-robin schedule.
