Domantas Sabonis, Luka Doncic, and Nikola Jokic dominated their respective teams’ wins, but they weren’t the only European stars shining brightly in the NBA last evening.
Believe it or not, the Boston Celtics blew a 30-point lead against the Atlanta Hawks, with Quin Snyder’s side taking a 120-118 win.
Bogdan Bogdanovic had a great game with 22 points, while Vit Krejci scored a career-high 16 points with six rebounds for the winners. Clint Capela reached another double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Kristaps Porzingis scored 17 points for Boston, while Svy Mykhailiuk added six in less than 10 minutes.
Victor Wembanyama missed the game due to an ankle injury, but that didn’t stop the San Antonio Spurs from defeating the Phoenix Suns 104-102.
Jeremy Sochan dominated with 26 points and 18 rebounds, while Cedi Osman added seven points for the winning team. On the other side, Jusuf Nurkic had six points with nine rebounds.
In a low-scoring game, the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors on the road 88-96. Dennis Schroder stood out, scoring 19 points, seven assists, and five boards.
The LA Clippers fell at home to the Indiana Pacers 116-133, with Ivica Zubac almost reaching a double-double, scoring nine points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
As for the European players, Evan Fournier scored 15 points against his former team as the Detroit Pistons lost to the New York Knicks 124-99, while Bojan Bogdanovic had 13 for the winning side. Aleksej Pokusevski had 11 points and five rebounds in the Charlotte Hornets‘ 115-92 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It’s also worth noting that Tristan Vukcevic scored his first NBA points, hitting two triples in the Washington Wizards 105-107 win over Chicago Bulls.
