He didn’t post another triple-double—it was his sixth game being a rebound or an assist shy of one—but Nikola Jokić delivered another historic performance in the NBA.
The Serbian center led the Denver Nuggets to a 125-116 victory over the Indiana Pacers, setting a career-high in assists dished.
Jokić finished the game with 19 assists, scoring 18 points on 9/14 shooting from the field. He also grabbed nine rebounds and recorded four steals, becoming the first player in NBA history to achieve those numbers in a single game.
Nikola’s compatriot, Bogdan Bogdanović, scored 13 points in the LA Clippers‘ 106-97 loss to the Detroit Pistons but shot just 1/12 from beyond the arc. Ivica Zubac also had 13 points for the defeated team but finished the game with 16 rebounds as well.
The Chicago Bulls crushed the Philadelphia 76ers on the road, 110-142, with Matas Buzelis scoring 17 points and dishing out five assists for the winners, while Guerschon Yabusele went scoreless for the losing side.
The Washington Wizards got a rare win, taking down the Brooklyn Nets 107-99 at home, behind Bilal Coulibaly’s 20 points and five rebounds, while Kyshawn George scored 12 points with five assists. Tristan Vukčević added six points with four rebounds in 10 minutes, while Killian Hayes contributed seven points with eight assists for the Nets.
Clint Capela was on the verge of a double-double with eight points and 11 boards in the Atlanta Hawks‘ 98-86 win over the Miami Heat, while Zaccharie Risacher had a minor role with just two points and three rebounds.
Deni Avdija was among the best in the Portland Trail Blazers‘ 112-114 road win over the Utah Jazz, scoring 18 points, with 14 rebounds and five assists, while Toumani Camara added eight points and eight rebounds for the winning side. Svi Mykhailiuk had 10 points for the Jazz.
Last but not least, Domantas Sabonis had seven points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists as the Sacramento Kings crushed the Charlotte Hornets 130-88.
