After squandering a 15-point lead, Dennis Schroder hit a go-ahead three-pointer and the Detroit Pistons prevailed, 100-94, over the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden.
The 31-year-old German point guard finished with 20 points in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2025 NBA Playoffs presented by Google. Lasting just over 29 minutes, he added three assists and two blocks. A 16-4 sprint by the hosts, knotting the game at 94, was countered by his clutch triple. Cade Cunningham produced a 33-point, 12-rebound double-double.
Winless in the postseason since 2008 and completely removed from the playoff picture since 2019, the Pistons snapped a 15-game losing streak. After stealing the home-court advantage from the Knicks, they host Game 3 in Little Caesars Arena on Thursday.
Italian Simone Fontecchio and Swedish Bobi Klintman stayed on the bench for the team coached by J.B. Bickerstaff on Monday.
On the wrong end of a best-of-seven series tied at 1-1, British O.G. Anunoby tallied ten points, five rebounds, two steals, and two assists. French Pacome Dadiet and German Ariel Hukporti did not play.
