Stephen Curry has been officially confirmed as out for Game 5 between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Dealing with a left hamstring strain, the 37-year-old point guard is set to sit out a third straight game, following an early exit in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals of the 2025 NBA Playoffs presented by Google.

Down 3-1 and facing elimination, the team coached by Steve Kerr, minus Curry, takes on the Wolves in Target Center. All remaining players of both sides are available for the next feature in a best-of-seven series.

The former Davidson standout, a native of Akron, Ohio, tallied 22.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.8 blocks per contest over eight postseason appearances, after averaging 24.5 points, 6.0 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.4 blocks per contest over 70 appearances in the 2024-25 Regular Season.

The Warriors prevailing on Wednesday would force Game 6 in San Francisco’s Chase Center on the next installment of NBA Sundays. Two straight wins would also force Game 7 in Minneapolis next Tuesday. If his side avoids elimination, it remains unclear whether the four-time NBA champion would be medically cleared.

In contrast, Jayson Tatum will stay on the injury list of the Boston Celtics after surgery on his right Achilles tendon. Similar to the Warriors, the defending champions are trailing 3-1 versus the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Game 5 will be played in TD Garden on Wednesday.
