Shortly following an appearance on The Big Podcast with Shaq alongside his twin brother, Marcus Morris Sr. was arrested on Sunday.

The latest legal issue went into beind detained by local authorities at the airport in Broward County and was related to a felony charge of fraud from another state, as confirmed on online booking records.

“The wording is crazy,” the 35-year-old power forward reacted via a post shared on X, “Damn for that amount of money they’ll embarrass you in the airport with your family. They got y’all really thinking bro did some fraud shit. They could have came to the crib for all that. When y’all hear the real story on this shit man. All I can say is Lesson learned. Bro will tell y’all tomorrow. This weird shit gave me a headache. Can’t stop nothin!”

The incident follows battery charges in the state of Kansas in 2012, leading to a diversion agreement, and eventually being acquitted of assault charges against him and his identical twin brother Markieff Morris in 2015.

Boxing challenge to the Jokic family

Another controversial moment concerning the Morris twins, the incident between Markieff and Jokic in 2021, extended to a boxing challenge to Jokic and his brothers, Strahinja and Nemanja, during the recent appearance on Shaq’s podcast. “The bigger they are, the harder they fall. We’re big, too. I’m 6-10, 270. It ain’t like I’m a small guy. I’m bigger than him,” said Markieff.

Marcus Morris is a veteran of 908 NBA games, but did not play in the 2024-25 season, after being released from his contract with the New York Knicks in September. During the 2019-20 season, he played for the Knicks, among numerous stops stretching to the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Cleveland Cavaliers. Back in 2011, he was selected with the 14th overall pick of the annual draft.

Markieff Morris was the 13th selection in 2011. His career currently features 842 NBA appearances, spread between the Suns, Pistons, Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, and Dallas Mavericks.
