The game that attracted the most attention during last night’s NBA schedule was played in Minneapolis.
The Minnesota Timberwolves hosted and defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 123–111, with Rudy Gobert recording a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Anthony Edwards led the way with 26 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 30 points and eight assists weren’t enough for the defending champions. Isaiah Hartenstein chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds for OKC.
Elsewhere, the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Sacramento Kings 113–111, with Tyrese Maxey scoring 40 and Joel Embiid adding 37 points, while Dennis Schroder starred for the losing side.
The German international led the Kings with 27 points, while Domantas Sabonis contributed 14 points and seven rebounds. Maxime Raynaud added eight points and seven rebounds.
The Washington Wizards recorded a rare win by beating the struggling Milwaukee Bucks 109–99, amid reports about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s potential trade.
The Greek international is still out due to injury, while Alex Sarr led the Wizards with a strong double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds. Bilal Coulibaly followed with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Alperen Sengun had nine points and 13 rebounds in the Houston Rockets’ 104–86 road win over the Atlanta Hawks, while Clint Capela had 10 points and seven rebounds for the losing side, and Vit Krejci added nine points and four rebounds.
The Miami Heat beat the Chicago Bulls 116–113 at the United Center, as Pelle Larsson scored 15 points with six rebounds, and Nikola Jovic added eight points and four rebounds.
Nikola Vucevic recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls, while Matas Buzelis was one rebound shy of it with 16 points.
Buzelis’ compatriot Jonas Valanciunas was also on the verge of a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds in a 107–103 win over the Brooklyn Nets, while Nikola Jokic is still out for the Denver Nuggets. Nolan Traore had a solid outing for the losing side with nine points and four rebounds.
