The Houston Rockets are set to add 33-year-old Bogdan Bogdanovic to their 2026–27 roster

Free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic has reached a deal with the Houston Rockets, as reported by ESPN senior NBA insider Shams Charania on Tuesday.

The Texas franchise recruited the veteran perimeter threat, successfully landing an established floor spacer ahead of his milestone tenth NBA campaign. Barring subsequent roster moves later this offseason, the Belgrade native will integrate into a diverse international core featuring Turkish starting center Alperen Sengun and Swiss reserve big Clint Capela.

The signing marks a significant shift in direction for the Serbian international, who was previously linked to a high-profile move to the Denver Nuggets that would have reunited him with national teammate Nikola Jokic. Rumors also circulated within global circles indicating that the skilled wing considered returning to the EuroLeague if a satisfactory NBA offer failed to materialize. Ultimately, Houston capitalized on the opportunity to add valuable postseason experience to its rotation.

This relocation follows a difficult stretch for the veteran guard. The Los Angeles Clippers recently declined their team option on his services, making him an unrestricted free agent. That front-office decision came after a challenging sequence where physical setbacks limited the guard to only 23 appearances last year. During that injury-plagued campaign, he posted modest averages of 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest.

Houston is now gambling on a complete recovery, betting that Bogdanovic’s proven perimeter accuracy and extensive playoff resume will bolster its depth. By securing the sharpshooter on a short-term deal, the Rockets mitigate financial risk while adding a proven veteran capable of stretching opposing defenses.
