The first ever VTB United League All-Star game was nothing less than a roaring success with the “Russian Stars” prevailing over the “World Stars” in the main act of the many and quite spectacular festivities.

The “Russian Stars” squad won the first ever VTB United League All Star game that took place in the city of Sochi by beating the “World Stars” 131 – 121.

In a packed “Bolshoi Sports Palace” arena, players from both teams provided a superb, highly colorful show, filled with rich highlight material.

Andrey Vorontsevich was named MVP of the All Star Game after scoring 28 points and grabbing 7 rebounds for 36 in PIR. It was a close call between him and Alexey Shved who finished the match with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

Sergey Karasev, who had previously won the 3-point contest, added 17 plus 5 rebounds while Viktor Khryapa posted a double-double of 11 points/10 rebounds.

For the “World Stars” team, Nando De Colo and Janis Blums dropped 18 points apiece, Keith Langford had 16 and Frank Elegar 14 along with some awesome slam dunk action. Yet not like the one Janis Timma had in store for the related contest, which he won after a magical jam.
