Being already protagonists of a stellar season, winning both the Turkish Cup and especially standing on top of the EuroLeague with the Final Four win in Abu Dhabi, Fenerbahce is getting close to the treble.

Following the 84-76 victory in Game 2 of the Turkish Basketball Super League Finals, beating once again their city rivals in Istanbul, Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team is up 2-0 over Besiktas. They need two more wins.

After his good effort shown in Game 1, Khem Birch was once again crucial for the yellow-and-blue side, finishing with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Devon Hall had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The team’s captain, Melih Mahmutoglu, was the protagonist of a vintage night, adding 15 points.

For the black-and-white team, Jonah Mathews shone with 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Former Fenerbahce‘s guard Berk Ugurlu had 14 points as well.

Game 1 was conditioned by talks and protests by both teams regarding referees’ decisions, and prior to Game 2, the Turkish Basketball Federation fined Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
