Alperen Sengun posted a double-double as the Houston Rockets took down the Golden State Warriors, 109-94, in Toyota Center.
After building a 20-point advantage, the team coached by Ime Udoka knotted a best-of-seven series of the Western Conference Quarterfinals of the 2025 NBA Playoffs presented by Google at 1-1.
The 22-year-old Turkish center netted 17 points with 6/15 field goals in Game 2. Logging nearly 37 minutes in his first postseason win, he threw in 16 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
“We earned this. We have come a long way. We’ve seen the bottom. Now we see the top, playing one of the best teams in the league. We got our first win. We are very happy. We are going to keep growing,” he mentioned during a postgame media session following Wednesday’s contest.
Jalen Green poured in 38 points. “When he’s good, we are all good. We are helping him, doing defense, everything. We do what we do. He then just scores and helps a lot,” said Sengun.
On the losing end, Dutch Quinten Post registered 12 points behind four triples, two rebounds, one steal, and one assist.
In injury concerns for head coach Steve Kerr, Jimmy Butler was forced to an early exit after suffering a pelvis contusion. He is scheduled for an MRI on Thursday.
