Variety can be the key word for the opening week of the brand new Basketball Champions League Regular Season. Teams scattered across Europe provided their credentials forming several close games and generating upsets in Gameday 1 of the 2019-20 season.

SIG Strasbourg made the pace in Group A, while Turk Telekom went up 1-0 on the road. BAXI Manresa and Dinamo Sassari had it tough but tipped off their BCL campaign victorious at home.

Keith Langford and AEK highlighted opening week action in Group B. San Pablo Burgos and RASTA Vechta introduced themselves to European club competitions with home wins, and Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem got the job done in Turkey.

Group C saw Peristeri winmasters achieve a tremendous comeback win after its 15-year European hiatus. Iberostar Tenerife won at home, so did VEF Riga, while ERA Nymburk routed Brose Bamberg.

Besiktas Sompo Sigorta was the big winner of Round 1 in Group D with its away victory versus PAOK. Telekom Baskets Bonn defeated Casademont Zaragoza to get to 1-0, so did Neptunas Klaipeda and JDA Dijon.
