An unruly crowd of New York Knicks fans overshadowed an epic victory by harassing San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama outside his team’s hotel, following Game 4 of the NBA Finals 2026 on Wednesday.

The incident followed a stunning win by Mike Brown’s side at Madison Square Garden, where British OG Anunoby capped off a historic 29-point comeback with a near-buzzer-beater to shape a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven championship series of the 2026 NBA Playoffs, presented by Google.

While thousands of ecstatic supporters initially poured into the streets of Manhattan to celebrate peacefully with chants of ‘Knicks in five’, the atmosphere once more shifted dangerously when a group of several hundred fans targeted the opposition’s lodging. Despite a heavy security presence, members of the crowd began loudly booing and hurling objects directly at ‘villain’ Wemby as the team arrived.

Security personnel reacted swiftly to escort the French phenom safely inside the building before the situation could spiral out of control.
